Due to the fact of having a triangular plot and on an extreme slope, magnificent views invite you to look towards the horizon, floating between the sea and the sky. Far from settling on the rocky terrain of the complex plot, the house is completely cantilevered. The davit at one end, and a wall only crossed by the access to the atrium of the pool, at the other end, serve as support for the main body of the house, which, without lower supports, floats thanks to the joint collaboration of the slabs and walls. It materializes a rigid piece, where floor, ceiling and walls participate of the resistance against the flexion caused by 18m of width between two structural supports and 8m of cantilever. Structure and architecture are merged into a single built object, where the coordination of the project teams is fundamental for a unit quality result.
The foundation in the rocky ground allowed the house to appear to emerge from the mountain, thanks to the high bearing capacity of the terrain, together with the execution of 4 foundation piles anchored in depth to mobilize tractions in the rear area of the main footing of the pile caps.
In addition to the adequate structural performance of the building, this project required the design, calculation and execution of the temporary system of formwork for the flown body, managing to solve the construction at a fraction of the cost budgeted initially. The carrying capacity of the walls buried in the rock was ingeniously used to fly a temporary metal grating, which, together with the correct temporal planning of the concreting process, led to a unique, safe and economic execution system.
