Estructuras Singulares UPV
The high slope plot offers the possibility of raising the main floor above the surroundings to capture the views. Thus, a simple prismatic body, supported by only four points, provides the horizontality highlighted by large overhangs at the ends, while defining the longitudinal orientation, parallel to the road, from which isolation is sought on a stepped platform.
The structure, subtle and not apparent, solves the cantilevers by means of two great height metal beam, integrated as a sill of the level of offices, and, simultaneously, they solve the great interior span, being arranged two aerial levels of prefabricated decks of hollow-core slabs between them. The overhangs of more than 7m, far from being a mere volumetric resource, are justified structurally, by their mutual compensation with the important interior span of 20m. This span holds the overhangs, while, at the same time, the overhangs hold the span.
Armed beams have a system of metal stiffeners, to avoid bending its soul, which inherit and obey the modular system of the project. The four supports, formed by double HEB welded together, are responsible for controlling the lateral movements derived from the relevant seismic action in the place. To highlight, in the highest two, the collaboration of a triangulation between them.
